A Theatre Under the Stars! A 400 year old mystery haunts Roanoke Island. In 1587, about 120 men, women and children established the first English colony in the New World, and then they vanished with a trace! The 2006 production season begins Friday, 2 June through Friday, 18 August. Shows are Monday through Saturday at 8:30 PM with admission ranging from $8.00 to $20.00 per person. The aquarium offers indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring a variety of programs, which include marine life videos, audience participation games, feeding programs, and live animals. Open daily. Although you are unable to climb this lighthouse, you are able to enter the base of the structure and look straight up the 150’ tower. You can also visit the Keeper’s House and walk the trails surrounding the site. Open daily from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Admission is free.

The tallest lighthouse in the nation at 200 feet, it was moved 2,900 feet inland in 1999 to protect it from wind and encroaching water. Open for climbing, weather and wind permitting, from early April until Columbus Day. Visitor’s Center and museum are open year-round from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
